Costco earns $2.998 billion in fourth quarter

What happened

Costco reported $2.998 billion in net income for its fiscal 2026 fourth quarter. Compared with the same quarter last year, net income was $2.610 billion then, and earnings per diluted share went from $5.87 to $6.75. Costco had already published quarterly net sales of $93.9 billion on September 2, 2026. The net income and per-share earnings figures are the new part of this release.

Why it may matter

Net income is the money left after Costco’s expenses for the quarter. Net income of $2.998 billion versus $2.610 billion a year earlier shows the change, but a non-recurring $0.15 per diluted share benefit from IEEPA tariff refunds this quarter makes the comparison less clean. One quarter cannot show whether that change will continue.

What we don’t know yet

This story does not have a breakdown of costs or details on cash flow.
